1. Understanding Thatched Roofs course that trains surveyors how to survey thatched properties also very useful for other property professionals and home owners.
I have been presenting this course since 2005.
The next course is on Wednesday 26th August in Devon. 6 hours CPD. This consists of 2 PowerPoint Courses: - Introduction to Thatch & Defects in Thatched Roofs and how to apply Condition Ratings to the Defects. Course is held in a 1490 Village Hall that is thatched. Before the homemade lunch we walk round the village looking at thatched roofs. You will receive an 82 page handbook that incudes course handouts and Guidelines on how to survey thatch and 8 pages of checklists. We are affiliated with the IHBC.

2. Weekend Practical Thatching Courses: This practical weekend Thatching Course is for anyone who would like an unusual weekend break or gain an appreciation of the art of Thatching.
If you are interested in thatch, come to glorious rural Devon, to unwind, and discover the ancient craft of Thatching - “hands on!” Being shown the straws by a retired Master Thatcher and experience great hospitality provided by Anna weekend break but you will be thatching on a roof frame in the barn. Using Water reed and Combed Wheat reed.
